The End of an Era
Good morning again there peoples.
Last night was a night of solemn rocking out...
Or something like that anyway. The last gig with me as bass player for The Lanterns. It was a good night, and to be honest, probably the most relaxed gig we've ever had. After Rob freaking me out in the car telling me about some of the rejected plans they had for me to celebrate, including such things as a fish sauce bath, you could imagine I was quite apprehensive about what they were going to do. In the end I needn't be too sad. They presented me with my first 'Wife-Beater' upon the front of which it is written:
"I joined
The Lanterns
and all I got
was this
wife beater"
And the Back:
"Replaced
20/01/05"
Thanks guys... That was sweet...
And a big thanks to Peter, Ben, Duncan and Gary for showing up. You guys proved that not all med students are scared to go out and see a band on a Thursday night. You guys Rock!
Also thanks to Julia for coming out to see us, Toddo is a great drummer to play with, and I Love playing with him, but I really missed having you in the band. Plus having a girl in the band just made us seem less scruffy ;)
And last but not least thank you to my extended family that is the Indro house, you guys have been there for every gig. You are our very own rent a crowd. We really appreciate that on those lonely first slot Thursday night gigs. Cheers!
My happiest day this year

Hello everyone, just a quick g'day, cause I am procrastinating when I really can't afford to be.
You see, I have to pack all my stuff up for tomorrow morning when the movers come to pick up my stuff!
I passed 2nd year med. Good god that was one of the most horrible experiences ever.
I had my sup exam yesterday, and I was seriously worried I had blown the physical examination part of the exam. But I didn't. I am so happy :D
I've been up since 5:30am worrying about it, and I probably didn't get to sleep until about 2am.
It is such a relief to finally know what I am doing this year.
I am going to Brunei!!!!!
Twas a Saturday, not unlike any other...

Hello there peoples. I just thought I'd add a few quick words to go with the new pics. The first is from our first gig at the Indie temple. We were the first band to play on the main stage, and as such the crowd was huge. Thanks though to everyone who was there. Admittedly it was cause we kept it small to get used to the venue, so on Thursday the 20th, at 8:15pm, we shall go off. Be there if you can ;)
the lower photo was from an improptu practice in my back yard after the rehearsal studio forgot about our booking. 10 points to Tony though for giving us a free practice as an apology. Don't let it get out too far, but it'd take more than a few forgotten bookings for us to stray from Red Star rehearsal studios. Tony takes care of us, and what's more, he definitely has the best rooms in Brisbane. Plus he even put out a thank you note in the street press to all the bands that practice there. How can you not support that?
Anyway, the countdown continues to the exam (18th) and then the movers picking up my stuff (20th), the last gig (also the 20th) then moving to Rocky with Peter (26th).
Cheers ya'll!
And thanks for sticking through this long, it's much appreciated (^_^)
What happened to Holidays

Maybe this should be more correctly titled 'What I leant last year: History taking means take the entire history.
I had a good time with the Cronins for Jodi's Graduation. Shepperton is really nice, and Melbourne was a ball, until I found out I have another exam to do yet. So as a result, I spent more time when I was in Townsville, studying in the JCU librbary than I did in my entire 4 years there as an undergraduate. Sad.
So now I am back in Brisbane for two more weeks, with my last two gigs with Lanterns ahead of me, and exam and then moving to Rockhampton. I'll try to add some fun stuff soon, but for now I am too busy.
Sorry guys, soon.
Cheers!
