Saturday Roof Club

Posted on Monday, August 30, 2004

Well tonight is another first for me. After chatting to a mate, Jay about what he was up to for Saturday on Friday night, I took him up on an invite to go up to the sunshine coast hinterland. I had already arranged with Rob, The Lanterns guitarist extrodinare to watch the Riverfire with him at parliament house, but in the end didn't make it back to Brisbane in time and joined Jay and the brits on the roof of his workplace. Dodgy doesn't even come close to describing the feeling. Imagine being on the roof of a 4-6 story building with what seems like a 30m drop to the ground on you left without any safety rail, and you could probably get a taste of my cowardice. It was a fantastic view and even the lightening all across the hinterland wasn't deterring us. The rain did though so in the end we stumbled down off the roof and got stuck in the traffic 30m from the story bridge for the show. It was awesome though, especially the jets at the end doing the fuel dump. They seemed barely 20m above the cliff level at kangaroo point. Good Stuff.

Sunday was another typical Sunday, tutor, tennis, buy the Sunday Mail, throw out the Sunday Mail, then band practice. The Lanterns are this kick arse new local band that I'm in... We're looking at an early to mid October debut gig, and I want to see everyone out there reading this who can make it, at the show. Of course I will pass on more detail about the debut gig as they come to hand.
