A shorter start

Yep, the posts have been absent for a while. I got back to Rocky OK, in spite of about 5 million scooter riders in Saigon. It was sweet to catch up with everyone in Brisbane too. Things have been slowly settling back into the normal pace here in Rocky. I can't even remember what it was we did on the first weekend anymore, but I'm sure it was fun. Oh yeah, the picture of the jumping castle. That was for Wayne and Sharon's engagement. Last weekend was a trip to Great Kepple, where I gained a new scar on my shoulder to remember the weekend for ever.
This weekend was a halloween party, for which there will be some photos up as soon as I get my hot little hands on them.
I felt like adding cause I don't really know who to talk about face to face on this one. What better way to deal with it than to go public huh?
We were watching a Spanish movie about euthanasia tonight, and it got me thinking about a patient I saw on the ward on Friday. Medicine has a fantastic way of de-humanising people. This poor guy found out that day that he almost definately had lung cancer. While I was putting in his canula, he remarked that he guessed it was to be expected as he had smoked heavily since he was a teeneager. I had no idea what to say to the guy. What can you say to someone who has just been told they are going to be killed soon. I had nothing. Instead I put in the canula. Sad thing for me is that I will always remember the guy for the fact he was my first successful canulation. Not why he was there.
I'm sorry mate, but I still have no idea what to say to you. I'll stick to I'm sorry.
That's all I've got.
